Entry Two
To pick up where I left off, the band spent some time traveling west--through Indiana, Kansas (Texaco, KS was a really beautiful area), and into Colorado. They had a couple of great shows in Denver--the people were very receptive, purchased lots of cd's, and gave lots of compliments. The band sends many thanks to all of the attentive new friends made on the road.
The morning they left Colorado, they experienced snow, sleet and rain through the curvy mountain passes. It was beautiful, but they were certainly hoping for some sun in New Mexico/Arizona (the rest of us back in the Great Lake state were hoping for the same! Chloe and I actually had to wear slippers and sweatshirts quite a few evenings last week!).
Upon venturing into New Mexico, the scenery changed to picturesque burnt sienna, coppery orange and vivid earthy browns. Sunshine also welcomed the band's arrival and granted them a bit of reprieve from the sometimes wet and chilly weather, aforementioned. They found a really wonderful camping spot at the Los Cerrillos RV park, and made it home for a couple of days (long enough for the Fed Ex package containing Jamie-Sue's jeans to arrive). The last night at Los Cerrillos, the band performed a show under a pavillion on the grounds. They were well received and even had a few dancers join into the festivities. Hellos and thank yous sent out to the gang that joined them that evening--Tom, Sue, Kate and Kal. Also, hello to Jeff, a really cool jeweler that they met along the way.
After leaving Los Cerrillos, they spent a few nights in the desert, camping in the RV and enjoying multiple hikes, jogs, swims and relaxed moments among some of nature's finest sites. There was an indescribable lake with mountains behind it that set the backdrop for a couple of days/nights. Andy and Greg enjoyed a hike and all the Icebreakers went for a swim. They've added a few animals to their lists--lizards and a coyote on night in New Mexico. As the band sends multiple hellos to friends, family and loved ones such as mom & dad Eiseler, mom & dad Seal, Amanda, Stacy, Staci and Jenn, etc. etc. etc., they travel onto their next destination--Arizona. They headed to Tucson and planned to visit some caverns and do a little exploring.
All in all, they've had a few more great gigs, are taking good care, and enjoying some amazing American sites. More to come in the next day or so, so stay tuned to www.jamiesueseal.com.
