Entry Seven
Hello Good People.
We've been back home for a few days, and we are getting rested up since our trip out east. I'll just give you a quick wrap up of our last days out on the road. We all went to see Steve Forbert and Phil Roy play at the Eclipse Theater on Thursday October 23rd. Both put on a really awesome show to a small but appreciative crowd. We sat right in the front row, and Forbert threw his capo to Ben after he took his picture. Lucky dog. We had the pleasure of talking to both Phil and Steve after their performances, and also received a nice e-mail from Phil this week. The guy that runs the theater (Peter), overheard us talking to them, and found out that we were a band. So he asked for our CD and press kit with the possibility of coming there to play sometime---good for us!
Later that night, we went to The Phoenix to check out the room and to participate in the open mic there. Andy, Ben and Greg all got up individually to play---I was so proud of them!!! We hung around for awhile after Greg left, and we actually had a snowball fight in the parking lot. Yes, there was just enough snow for that!
Friday night we played an energetic show at the warm and cozy Purple Moon Pub. Great food, good people. We got to meet a lot of terrific people there including Erin who took care of us, Matt and Ashley, Roger, and a talented guitarist named Tim who came to see us play after meeting him at The Phoenix the night before. Mason, our chef from the Hydeaway Inn, also stopped by with a few of his friends.
We played "up the mountain" at The Phoenix Bar & Southwestern Grill on Saturday night. Such a festive place---Omar was our guy that night, and the lovely Juliet was our bartender. A few people came out again that we'd met previously. So we've been invited back to play The Phoenix during ski season---and we are highly considering it! You can't know how much we appreciate the support from new and old friends!!! Steve, Carrie and Sadie were fabulous Mad River hosts, and Carrie had us all over for delicious homemade pizza---mmm, mmm, good.
The people at The Hydeaway Inn sent us away with our bellies full with another incredible breakfast, and asked for one of our CDs before we left, and the promise to promote us relentlessly if we come back during ski season. I had a great couple walks up the little mountain behind the inn with the Mad River gushing through the trees. Wow, what a beautiful trip. We made it---we didn't kill each other--and we gained some new friends. A successful trip in my opinion.
